Since 2009
A workshop first, a shop second
Roven started with two people, a bandsaw and a stubborn belief that furniture should be repairable. Seventeen years later we still finish every frame by hand in the same building, and we still publish the name of the maker on the underside of the seat.
We buy oak from four forests within 300 km of the workshop, all FSC-certified, and we replant more than we take. Offcuts become the seat pads; sawdust heats the drying kiln.

Inspired to create a chair where the back does the work.
Most dining chairs ask your spine to hold the position. We spent two years moving the lumbar curve up and down in eleven-millimetre steps until the chair took over the job — which is why the Vera has one continuous bent rail instead of a joint exactly where you need support.
